The state’s largest teacher’s union has thrown its support behind the Democratic candidate for governor.
Dr. Jennifer McCormick has gotten the endorsement of the Indiana State Teachers Association, which is a key endorsement secured by McCormick.
The endorsement now allows her to have access to about $1.3 million in campaign money that comes from the union’s political action committee.
The union says McCormick is for reworking the state’s school choice laws to better help public schools.
McCormick is the only Democrat so far who is running in the primary.
