A new South Shore Line schedule may soon get you to Chicago a lot quicker.

The new schedule is effective May 14 this year and provides 53 trains to and from Chicago with both express and local improvements.

It’s a result of the capital improvements made to the infrastructure by the Double Track NWI project which allows the addition of 14 weekday trains, revised times, reduced travel times and new limited-stop express service.

Because of the new limited-stop express train services, those in South Bend can get to Chicago in just 109 minutes.
