Two Benton Harbor shootings reported Saturday

Police in Benton Harbor had their hands full Saturday with not one, but two shootings.

The first shooting happened around 3 a.m. Saturday on the 400 block of E. High St. A man approaching his home was shot when he opened the front door, according to the Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety.

He’s expected to fully recover from his injuries.

Later on Saturday at about 10 p.m., another shooting took place. This time, it was about three hundred feet from the first shooting. A man and his girlfriend were in a parked car at the Harbor Bluff apartment complex.

A man and his girlfriend were in a parked car at the Harbor Bluff apartment complex. He was dressed entirely in black, including a black scarf, opened fire several times into the car before escaping. Both victims are expected to recover as well after they were taken to a local hospital.
