Autopsies on Savage brothers complete, officials waiting on toxicology reports

Autopsies on two brothers who died of suspected drug overdoses over the weekend are complete, but officials won’t know more until the toxicology results are returned.

Nick Savage, 19, and Jack Savage, 18, were both found unresponsive in their Granger home on Sunday morning. Investigators with St. Joseph County Metro Homicide believe the brothers attended a party in Granger on Saturday night. Two other men were hospitalized for suspected drug overdoses and are expected to recover.

The cause and manner of death for both brothers won’t be determined until the toxicology reports are returned, which could take up to six weeks or more, according to a news release from the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office.

No outward signs of trauma were found during the autopsy.

Penn High School students and parents who want to talk to someone about the Savages can speak to counselors at the Penn Counseling Center this week.
