Boy, 4, struck and killed in Bristol gas station parking lot

A 4-year-old boy from Elkhart has died after being struck by a vehicle in Bristol.

Police were called to a gas station at 410 E. Vistula in Bristol around 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12 to investigate a child struck by a vehicle.

The boy, identified as Cameron Fulks, was hit after he got out of a vehicle parked at the station’s gas pumps and ran into the path of a pickup truck driving through the parking lot, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth.

The 38-year-old Sturgis man who was driving the pickup truck was not injured, the Elkhart Truth reported.

The incident appears to be an accident, according to the Elkhart County coroner’s office.

An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday. Sept. 13.

This is being investigated by the Elkhart County Sheriffs’ Office and the Bristol Police Department.
