Plymouth police to begin red tagging abandoned, unregistered vehicles

Plymouth’s police department is re-enforcing the start of red tagging abandoned or unregistered vehicles in yards and on the streets.

As leaf pickup and winter street cleaning are on the way, and as complaints have built up over the summer, red tagging will be picking up once again.

If a vehicle has flat tires, has no working engine or has not been moved in a long time, they’re looking to get them moved out of the public eye. If the vehicle is inoperable and is sitting on city property and gets tagged, it has three days to be moved.

As for vehicles in driveways and on private property, if there are no tires on the vehicle, then it will be tagged and must be moved into a garage or out of public view within 30 days.

WSBT says while police are not just roaming the city and looking for vehicles to tag, if they do see one, they will tag it. If not moved in time, it will be removed by Plymouth police.
