Homicide unit called after welfare check at Goshen home

A welfare check in Goshen developed into a homicide investigation.

Fee details have been released but around 5:20 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13, officers responded to a welfare check at a home in the 800 block of South Indiana Avenue. Upon arrival, officers met with family members of the individual involved.

Due to the circumstances surrounding the case, the Elkhart County Homicide Unit was called in to lead the investigation.

Authorities have stated that the case is ongoing, with no further details available at this time.
