The latest real estate update from September shows statewide home sales were up one percent compared to last year.
Home sales totaled 6,705 in September, which was just one percent ahead of 2023. New pending sales were up six percent.
The Indiana Association of Realtors says lower mortgage rates and rising inventory drew some new buyers to the market.
The South Bend metro also saw September home sales rise above last year’s, with 300 closings, up 19 percent.
They also say September’s average daily listings was the highest monthly number since January of 2020.
