Indiana Task Force One is returning to Florida while AES Indiana is sending five crews there to get ready to help in the Hurricane Milton recovery effort.
AES Indiana says five three-person crews and four support personnel left for Tennessee Monday afternoon, and they will travel to Georgia until they are called to Florida.
“We received mutual assistance support last week as we dealt with the aftermath and devastation from Hurricane Helene. Now it is time for us to assist others with Milton,” said Director of Communications with AES Indiana Mallory Duncan.
The team of 80 central Indiana first responders in Task Force One was deployed to Florida in late September prior to Hurricane Helene, and spent a few days helping with the cleanup and recovery effort there before they were called to assist in North Carolina. That’s where they’ve been prior to this activation.
