(95.3 MNC)

A Nappanee man operating a moped was killed after colliding with a box truck.

The crash happened just after 7 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, when Elkhart County Sheriff’s investigators say Justin Sanders, 33, was traveling northbound on a Tao moped when he failed to stop at a stop sign, and pulled directly in front of a International box truck driven by a South Bend man.

The truck struck Sanders’ moped, resulting in severe damage to both vehicles.

Sanders was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck was not injured.
