Shauntay Wade, 43, of Niles, has been sentenced to 86 months in prison for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. The sentencing was handed down by a federal judge following Wade’s conviction in a three-day jury trial in February 2024.
The case stems from an incident in December 2021, when Wade assaulted a woman, pointed a gun at her, and attempted to hide the weapon after a 911 call was made. Police officers responded and discovered the firearm, along with more than 150 grams of marijuana and 35 grams of cocaine.
Wade, who has several prior felony convictions, was prohibited from possessing the firearm. In addition to his prison sentence, Wade will serve two years of supervised release following his time in custody.
