A South Bend man has been sentenced to 57 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm after being sentenced in U.S. District Court.
In addition to his prison term, Atlantis Griffin, 39, will face one year of supervised release.
Court documents reveal that in February 2024, Griffin was stopped by police in Mishawaka while carrying a loaded handgun, cocaine, and over $1,000 in cash.
As a convicted felon, Griffin was prohibited from possessing a firearm.
The traffic stop led to the recovery of the weapon, drugs, and money, resulting in his arrest and subsequent conviction.
