The South Bend Police Department will have a heightened presence at South Bend Schools today as we continue to investigate newly discovered social media threats involving some area schools.

The South Bend Police Department has multiple School Resource Officers assigned to South Bend Community School Corporation, who will work alongside additional police officers and security personnel today to ensure the safety of students and staff.

At this time, our department is aware of multiple schools across the nation receiving similar threats, which likely indicates this is not an isolated threat to our schools.

Anybody with additional information about the threats are asked to share your information anonymously with Michiana Crime Stoppers at 574-288-STOP.
