One minor dead, another critical after being pulled from channel in Warsaw

One child died and another is in critical condition after the two were pulled from a channel in Warsaw.

Emergency crews from Warsaw Police, Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory, and Lutheran EMS, were called around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sep. 1, to the channel near Gilliam Drive off of Center Lake, according to News Now Warsaw.

Both victims had been pulled from the water and were receiving resuscitation efforts upon the first responders’ arrival.

One victim was airlifted to a Fort Wayne hospital in critical condition, while the other was taken to Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital and pronounced dead shortly after, News Now Warsaw reported.
