A former East Chicago Police Commander is heading to prison…for distributing cocaine while on duty.
According to the Department of Justice, Louis Arcuri gave the cocaine to “an associate” while he was working in June of 2021.
He was taken into custody in February of this year, and is now facing three years behind bars.
FBI Indianapolis Special Agent in Charge Herbert Stapleton says, “Officers…are held to the highest standards…so when an officer is found to be involved in criminal activity, it undermines the public’s trust.”
After prison, Arcuri will be subject to another three years of supervised release.
