It happened around 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 9, and involved a passenger car and a cement truck on West 12 B Road near King Road.
Officers arrived to find one of the drivers trapped in the car with serious injuries.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a 2012 Ford passenger car driven by an 81-year-old Plymouth man was traveling eastbound in the 10000 block of West 12 B Road when the vehicle crossed the centerline and collided with a 2007 cement truck traveling westbound.
The front left corner of the Ford collided with the front left corner of the cement truck, entrapping the Plymouth man.
The collision caused the Ford to rotate, coming to a final rest facing north in the eastbound lane of West 12 B Road.
The driver of the cement truck was not injured.
The Plymouth man was airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries.
Evidence gathered at the scene indicates the plymouth man was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Neither alcohol, nor drugs are suspected to be factors in this crash.
