The new school year can be tough for parents and students, but South Bend School officials hope to make it a bit more smooth.

Community meetings are taking place, this week, to address questions about academics, enrollment, and transportation.

Parents are encouraged to attend.

Big changes this year include the closure of Clay High School and Warren Elementary, the empowerment zone returning to South Bend Schools, and new transportation boundaries.

School starts in less than three weeks.
