A Goshen man operating a motorcycle was killed in a crash on County Road 17.

It happened around 11:45 a.m. on Thursday, July 25, at the intersection with County Road 38.

Elkhart County Sheriff’s investigators say a Pontiac G6, driven by a 77-year-old Goshen woman traveling southbound was turning east onto 38, but failed to field to a northbound Harley Davidson, which caused her front end to strike the man on the motorcycle, 67-year-old William Hess.

Hess was thrown from the motorcycle and died at the scene. Police say he wasn’t wearing a helmet.

The Goshen woman was taken to the hospital with injuries to her arm and ribs.
