A man found with cocaine in his system during a deadly crash was sentenced last week.
Douglas Dehoff of Goshen pleaded guilty in June to causing death while operating a vehicle with a controlled substance in May of 2022.
Documents say he was headed east on C.R. 4 and turned north onto Packard Drive and into the path of a motorcycle driven by 33-year-old Justin Bowen of Shipshewana who was headed westbound.
Bowen was pronounced dead at the scene, and cocaine was found present in Dehoff’s system.
According to The Goshen News, Dehoff was sentenced to eight years with the Indiana Department of Corrections ith three years suspended on reporting probation, four years to be served in prison and one on Michiana Community Corrections.
