Medical professionals offer tips for keeping school-age children healthy

If you are preparing to send your son or daughter back to school, medical professionals have some tips on how to keep them healthy.
Dr. Robert Biernbaum with WellNow Urgent Care urges kids to wash their hands, get plenty of sleep, and eat healthy meals in order to avoid common illnesses like the flu, pink eye, and RSV.
As some schools and athletic programs require physicals, Dr. Biernbaum also encourages you to schedule an appointment with your child’s pediatrician in advance, or visit a WellNow clinic.
And, though it may seem obvious, he says you should keep your kids at home if they feel sick.
