The St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office has charged a woman with felony resisting law enforcement after they say she led Mishawaka Police on a chase.
Officers were called to Kohl’s on Grape Road, earlier this month, about a group of shoplifters.
Authorities say Shykeena Smith, 24, took off from the store, blew through red lights and stop signs and weaving through traffic.
The chase went into South Bend where an officer used stop sticks to deflate the car’s tires, but Smith continued to flee.
The vehicle was later found abandoned on Wayne Street.
Smith was found in the backyard of a nearby home and placed under arrest.
