A man found guilty, but mentally ill, for a fatal crash in South Bend has learned his fate.
Seth Jason Becker has been sentenced to a total of seven years on counts of reckless homicide, criminal recklessness, and reckless driving.
It was back in July of 2022 when police were called to a crash at Ewing Avenue and Taylor Street. Investigators say Becker ran a stop sign at 50 to 60 mph, hit a Dodge Durango driven by 58-year-old Janeth Gomez.
Her vehicle then hit a third car.
Gomez was killed in the crash.
