Hartford man arrested in Indiana after allegedly stealing car

A man from Van Buren County has been arrested after police say he stole a vehicle  and drove it across the state line.

It happened  just before 8 .m. on Friday, July 12, at the Dunkin Donuts on Niles Avenue in St. Joseph.

A woman told the police that she had been dragged out of her vehicle and the thief drove away.

He was apprehended a short time later by the Indiana State Police.

The suspect, a 43 year-old Hartford man, will be sent back to Michigan to face pending criminal charges.

The victim was treated at the hospital for minor injuries.
