Elkhart High School substitute arrested

(Paige Mallory Passman/Elkhart Truth)
A substitute teacher at Elkhart High School has been arrested.
Elkhart Police received a report earlier this year about an alleged inappropriate relationship between the teacher and a student.
Court documents reveal that the 16-year-old student first denied any sexual activity with the 25-year-old teacher, Autumn Ringer, but later admitted she had taken him to her apartment.
A search of Ringer’s belongings uncovered inappropriate messages and nude photos. Investigators say Ringer confessed to the misconduct.
WSBT reports Ringer was hired by Elkhart Community Schools in early February and placed on leave in late March.
