Woman, 46, shot in 2800 block of South Main Street in Elkhart

The Elkhart Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred earlier this evening in the 2800 block of S. Main St, Elkhart.

It was about 10:10 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, the Elkhart City 911 Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a shooting with injury in the 2800 block of South Main Street.

Elkhart Police Department officers and other first responders were dispatched and arrived shortly thereafter.

A 46-year-old woman was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment of her injuries. She remains in serious, but stable, condition.

This remains an ongoing and active investigation, and no suspect has been arrested at this time.
