West Nile Virus confirmed in Northern German Township mosquitoes

Keep your insect repellent nearby. Mosquitoes with West Nile Virus have been found in Northern German Township.
St. Joseph County is one of four counties in Indiana, including neighboring Elkhart County, where the virus has been detected in mosquitoes this year.
The St. Joseph County Health Department anticipates more cases of West Nile Virus until the first hard frost.
In the meantime, the Health Department will treat for mosquitoes in the affected area, wind and weather permitting.
