South Bend man critically hurt after motorcycle/delivery truck collision on Michigan Street

A 57-year-old South Bend man is hospitalized with life-threatening head injuries after the motorcycle he was operating collided with a delivery truck.

The crash happened Wednesday afternoon at Michigan Street and Fairview Street.

The initial reports indicate that the delivery van, driven by a 49-year-old Mishawaka man was attempting to make a northbound turn, but turned into the path of the motorcycle.

The delivery driver was not hurt.

The crash remains under investigation by the St. Joseph County Fatal Crash Team.
