One of the three women shot on Parry Street in South Bend has died

UPDATE: One of the three women who was shot, early Thursday morning, in South Bend has died. Officers were called to the 500 block of Parry Street after reports of gunfire. They found a woman who had been shot when they arrived. Shortly afterward, they discovered that two more women with gunshot wounds had been brought to the hospital from the same place. On Thursday afternoon, investigators announced that 28-year-old Jasmine Swanson died due to her injuries, making the shooting a homicide investigation.

ORIGINAL STORY: The South Bend Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is investigating an overnight shooting with three victims.

Officers were called just before 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 20, to the 500 block of Parry Street on the report of shots fired.

Upon arrival, officers located a female victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

A short time later, officers were advised that two additional female victims with apparent gunshot wounds arrived at the hospital from the same scene.

This remains an active and ongoing investigation.
