Paddleboarding is ready to go at Jean Klock Park in Benton Harbor, after a vote from city commissioners.

The Third Coast Surf Shop was approved to set up signs at the park on Monday. WSJM reports that Commissioners approved a vendor agreement for the shop to rent out kayaks and paddleboards at the park, and at the city boat launch, after an agreement was made that the signs they post won’t be permanent. There was concern that signage promoting the business would distract from Jean Klock Park’s identity as a Benton Harbor attraction.

The agreement is for five years and 18% of Third Coast’s sales will go to the city, an amount that will increase annually.
