A Syracuse man is recovering after a crash that happened when he tried to avoid a collision.
The crash happened around 3 p.m. on Monday, June 17, on County Road 46 near the intersection of County Road 15.
The 36-year-old driver told sheriff’s deputies he saw a slow-moving vehicle in front of him and began to pass the vehicle. At the same time, the slow-moving vehicle also attempted a pass, around a horse-drawn buggy.
The Syracuse man said he didn’t have enough time to slow down or move back into the lane without striking another vehicle and swerved to avoid a crash.
He drove off the roadway, several hundred feet into a ditch before flipping over, and then rolling back down right side up.
