A woman charged with robbery last year had her bond hearing rescheduled.

Police were called to Jams Smoke Shop in Elkhart after a reported robbery in May of 2023.

An associate said that two individuals, a man and a woman, had entered the store, when the woman, Lorain Childs, grabbed a vape in front of the register and tucked it into her shirt before the two left.

The associate said she went out to confront the woman and said she would not call the police if she returned the vape, but the woman followed her back inside and returned a different vape than the one stolen.

The associate then followed the woman back out of the store to take photos of the vehicle. Surveillance footage was put on social media, according to The Goshen News, and the two suspects were identified.

A bond hearing is now set for June 6.
