If you’ve been thinking about getting a new pet, the Humane Society of St. Joseph County may be able to help you out.

From June 3 through 30, they’re waiving adoption fees for all dogs and cats age six months and older.

To qualify, individuals must provide proof of a pre-paid wellness exam appointment with a full-service veterinary clinic, ensuring that the pet will start off right in their new home.

And, they say it reduces the likelihood of pets being surrendered, keeping more animals in loving homes.
