Rochester woman arrested for fake fundraising scam

A Rochester woman was arrested after scamming people with fake fundraisers.

Police say 24 year-old Danielle Longmire would go door-to-door with her three young children, seeking donations.

WSBT reports that victims of the scam claimed Longmire would change the amount donated on their checks and then cash them at the bank, and bank video cameras saw Longmire attempting to cash a check from a checkbook that one victim reported was stolen.

She’s being held on theft, fraud and forgery charges.
