The annual Sunburst races are happening this weekend, marking the 40th year for the event.

Organizers say Sunburst allows the community to come together to support Beacon Children’s Hospital.

The events include a half marathon, 10k run, 5k run and a 5k fitness walk. 4,000 people are expected to participate, all in support of the Children’s Hospital.

The first race will begin at 7 a.m. Saturday morning, and all races will begin and finish at South Bend’s Century Center.
