Two Walt Disney Elementary students struck in hit-and-run

Two students who attend Walt Disney Elementary School in Mishawaka were struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.
It was around 2:10 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 23, at the intersection of East Day and Merrifield Avenue/Filbert Road, when the collision took place.
The students were crossing the roadway heading north with assistance from the crossing guard.
Both male students were struck by a blue vehicle that disregarded the crossing guard.
After the students were struck, the vehicle left the scene, traveling eastbound on Day Road.  One of the students was transported via ambulance to the hospital for treatment.  The other student left with his parent(s).  Neither student appeared to be seriously injured.
The Mishawaka Police are looking for a blue or turquoise-colored sedan, possibly a Hyundai or Pontiac Grand Am.
