Benton Harbor waitress fired just days after receiving $10 thousand tip

(95.3 MNC)

Just last week, a Benton harbor waitress received a $10,000 tip on a $32 check.

However, earlier this week, that same waitress was fired by her employers at the Mason Jar Cafe.

WNDU says there are more questions than answers coming from the situation.

The anonymous customer who left the tip in memory of his friend has asked waitress Linsey Boyd to share with her co-workers on Friday, which she did.

But, word broke on social media earlier this week that Boyd had been fired from the cafe.

When WNDU reached out to Boyd, she told them that she had drove out of town to spend time with family and get away, telling them that it had been a pretty rough week.

Not much information has been confirmed, though the Mason Jar Cafe does not seem to be hurting for business, as their parking lot and restaurant continue to fill up.

Management states that Boyd’s firing had nothing to do with the tip.
