Elkhart Police // Alyssa Foster

A North Carolina man accused in the December shooting deaths at Galley Sports Pub will not be using the Elkhart County Public Defenders Office.

The shooting happened on December 14 where police found 30-year-old Michael Pike dead and 24-year-old Jalen Young suffering from gunshot wounds.

Young was pronounced dead at the hospital.

According to the Goshen News, police were told that 22-year-old Christian Wall of North Carolina was the shooter, and he was located in a gray Ford Fusion in the parking lot near the victims.

Wall told Judge Michael Christofeno that he won’t be using the Elkhart County Public Defenders Office because of a conflict of interest.

He told Christofeno that he intends to hire his own attorney.
