Nappanee teen killed in Lagrange Co. crash

(Jon Zimney/95.3 MNC)

A 16 year-old was killed in a crash Sunday morning in LaGrange County.

Police say a vehicle with two 16 year-olds inside slid off the road on S.R. 5 near C. R. 750 S, just before 1 a.m.

Police say another vehicle was using a tow strap to try and pull the vehicle out of a ditch. Sixteen year-old Benjamin Lehman of Nappanee had left the passenger seat and was standing near the tow strap when a third vehicle approached that couldn’t see the tow strap due to the weather. That vehicle struck Lehman, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
