Niles man, 26, hurt in snowmobile crash in Cass County

A Niles man was hurt in a snowmobile crash.

The collsion happened around 7:45 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 15.

Cass County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the collision located near the intersection of Indian Lake and Frost Street in Pokagon Township and made contact with injured driver, a 26-year-old man.

Investigators say he was operating a snowmobile southbound on the trails near Indian Lake and Frost St. when he lost control of the snowmobile and it over-turned, landing on top of him.

The Niles man was taken to Memorial Hospital in South Bend with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be factors.
