January marks National Mental Health Wellness Awareness Month, and a local family is actively working to enhance access to mental health care in South Bend.
The Veldman family has significantly contributed to establishing a new clinic dedicated to mental health research and services.
The university has announced that this clinic will bring together the William J. Shaw Center for Children and Families and the Suicide Prevention Initiative, with the primary aim of broadening the availability of affordable health counseling services for residents in South Bend.
