Benton Township development could bring rental cabins to Territorial

The Benton Township Trustees have approved a special use permit that would allow the creation of vacation cabins.

The planning commission hopes to see the property on Territorial remain under one owner, who seeks to convert the property into short-term rentals. WSJM reports that the cabins would appeal to summer visitors and operate as the Sandblox Resort in honor of the property’s legacy as a sand pit and block factory.

The special use permit was approved at a meeting earlier this week.
