Southwestern Michigan College has received a grant to partner with Andrews University for a nursing program.

It’s a $2 million grant that will expand SMC’s nursing program and help nursing students earn a bachelor’s degree. The Cass and Berrien County schools are responding to a call from the state for community colleges to find appropriate partners to help build bridges between RN and BSN programs, according to WSJM.

Many healthcare providers are looking for nurses with a higher level of education. The new program will begin this fall.
