More than 10,000 youth are in the Michigan foster care system run by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, and now is your chance to help those aging out of the system.

The Fostering Futures Scholarship Trust Fund provides college scholarships to students who have been in the foster system.

WSJM reports that all of the proceeds go toward helping youths stay in college and graduate.

While 70% to 75% of youth who have aged out of the foster system express some desire to pursue a higher education, only about 10 percent enroll in college, and even less graduate.

Fostering Futures not only helps get youth into college, but it helps provide them with support services while on campus.

You can support the program with an online donation.
