Swiss Valley Ski and Snowboard Area in Jones Michigan won’t be able to open this weekend.

Despite the ski area making its own snow, this week, the weather is just to warm.

In a post on Facebook, they explain that they have been able to make dense snow piles, but what they also need is hours of freezing temps so our groomers won’t make “mush” out of what we have on the ground.

They say each night they’ve made snow, it’s been followed by a warm snap. They say they still have significant snow left when the temps allow us to fire the snow-making guns again.

Skiers and snowboarders can stay updated on their effort at the Swiss Valley Facebook page.
