A Benton Harbor woman is seeing 10 years in prison after committing fraud with other family members.

46-year-old Roshell Beaty received a 124 month sentence on Tuesday after previously pleading guilty to two counts of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and one count of aggravated identity theft.

A press release states that Beaty and her family stole almost $750,000 of unemployment insurance money by filing unemployment insurance claims in their own names in several states.

And, Beaty reportedly filed claims in other people’s names using fake identification.

The attorney’s office also says the family stole over $287,000 in loans intended for businesses suffering due to the pandemic.

Other family members have all been convicted for their roles in the conspiracy.
