Elkhart Police were called to a 7-Eleven convenience store after getting reports about a suspicious man following some employees.
ABC 57 News says it was around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 11, an officer used emergency lights, prompting the man to run towards the road.
Ignoring requests, he was hit by a truck while fleeing to Bristol Street and then entered a jewelry store.
The officer, sustaining abrasions, caught up with the suspect, who resisted arrest and kicked a second officer who came to help.
The man was detained, transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, and is undergoing evaluation.
