The investigation continues after a deadly crash on South Bend’s north side.
The collision happened just before 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 18, and involved a passenger vehicle and a FedEx delivery truck near the intersection of Lindenwood Dr. and Auten Rd. in South Bend.
The driver of the passenger vehicle, Beverly Ditsch, 18, of South Bend, and her father, Joshua Ditsch, 47, also of South Bend, were both fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene when their vehicle, traveling westbound on Auten Road, collided head on with the eastbound FedEx delivery truck driven by a 29-year-old Mishawaka woman.
The FedEx driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital. She is cooperating with investigators.
The crash remains under investigation by the St. Joseph County Fatal Crash Team.

Fed ex ,prime Amazon the drivers drive way too fast.. they pull into subdivisions driving over 25. I live in the middle of a dead end road from the start of the road to the end it might take 2 minutes and that’s doing 10 they come down in 30 seconds. We started going out and filming them. The Amazon driver got mouthy with us we asked what his supervisor name is.he said he was the supervisor
I am thankful for your reporting on this horrible accident that my niece and her father were in. I am hoping that it is okay to add the GO Fund me link here in the comments. Tamatha Ditsch (widow and mother) is trying to raise money for the funeral costs. As you can image unexpected funeral costs for one loved one can be over whelming let alone 2.
