Two people in a horse-drawn buggy were hurt after they were hit from behind by an S-U-V.
The collision happened around 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28, on State Road 13 south of U.S. 6.
Elkhart County Sheriff’s investigators say a 57-year-old Syracuse woman in a Toyota 4Runner tried to pass the horse-drawn buggy on the left but collided with the back end of the buggy.
The 53-year-old driver of the buggy suffered head, neck, and chest pain. A 51-year-old woman riding in the buggy was also hurt. They were both taken to a Fort Wayne hospital.
A girl riding in the buggy was not injured.
The woman who deputies say caused the crash was cited for making an unsafe lane movement.
