Christmas tree disposal in South Bend

South Bend is offering free Christmas tree disposal.

It’s for all residents within city limits.

You can get rid of your tree from Tuesday, Jan. 3 to Tuesday, Jan. 31, on the same day as trash pickup.

To schedule a Christmas tree pickup, residents can submit an online request or make a call. Only one tree will be removed from each household. If you have more than one, there’s an extra rate of $10 per tree.

Residents are asked to follow the guidelines for safe and efficient tree pickup.

Guidelines including placing trees at the curb by 6 a.m. on the day of pickup.

Trees should not be placed in the street or alley, and must be out front, in an open area, unobstructed by cars, trees, powerlines, mailboxes, fences, poles, buildings or containers.
