The Elkhart County Health Department has released new recommendations on indoor mask usage.

The Department recommends that all community members wear masks indoors to slow the spread of COVID-19. Monday, the CDC labeled Elkhart County as “orange,” meaning the Delta COVID variant is spreading substantially across the county. Fully vaccinated people should wear a mask in public indoor settings in areas of substantial or high transmission.

For those who are fully vaccinated, the County is asking community members to do the following:

  • Wear a mask in public indoor settings in areas of substantial or high transmission
  • Wear a mask regardless of the level of transmission if they are immunocompromised, are at an increased risk for severe disease from COVID-19, or if they have someone in their household who fits these two descriptions or are not fully vaccinated
  • If they have a known exposure to someone with suspected or confirmed COVID-19, get tested three to five days after exposure and wear a mask in public indoor settings for 14 days or until they receive a negative test result
  • All teachers, staff, students, and visitors at schools wear masks regardless of vaccination status.

Is it really that big of a deal to wear a mask? Just do it. Maybe things would have been worse the last time, no one will ever know for sure.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result. Where is the science? None of the studies show that masks do anything except make a political statement. Hey Lisa, if you want to wear a mask go ahead. But you have no right to make anyone else wear a mask or get a vaccine. Where in the state or federal Constitution do you have that right??? If you are vaccinated why wear a mask?/ Does the vaccine work or not??? We already know masks don’t work. If people are so scared then thy had better just stay home. That is their right to do so isn’t it?

Sick of taking advice from non- elected health department. Maybe if they were to actually “follow the science“, as they claim to, you would
know that the masks don’t work. People who have had the virus have natural immunity that is better than the vaccine. That the “pandemic of the unvaccinated“ came from January to June data. Before a lot of people had the vaccine. A bunch of smoke and mirrors to continue the fear mongering. It’s just plain sad!
